The Symbol of the Fine Arts Department is a circle with decorated patterns and ganesha in the middle.
Ganesha is worshipped as the God of knowledge and wisdom. He presides on a vine leaves - patterned throne, with rays of light over his head. His right trunk is broken off. He wears a naga chain over a shoulder. His upper left hand holds a rope. His legs are crossed in a meditation posture with his right foot pointing downwards. Around the circle, there are seven crytals, representing seven areas of fine arts under the jurisdiction of the Fine Arts Department, namely sculpturing, painting, music, dance, speech, architecture and literature. |
